ART EXPLOSION: Empowerment For Life Workshop Series - this is a mindfulness-based series of 5 youth empowerment workshops that increase students self-esteem, security, confidence, motivation and resiliency. Concrete body-centered methods are used to build emotional intelligence, help students identify and access their own knowing, passions, problem-solver and many other inner resources. This allows them to authentically build a strong foundation within themselves (internally vs externally driven) and develop and express their own knowing in a powerful visual (and verbal) voice. Highly relevant for the overwhelming stress youth are experiencing today that is resulting in increased anxiety, depression, high risk behaviors, self-harm, addictions and substance abuse. Includes videos, audio visualizations, rich visuals, ample instructions, a mentor, well supported development process that takes student from accessing own passion/ belief/ issue to a quality art object that communicates something that they stand for. As well, there is a marking rubric and suggestions for extentions so students can get credit for meeting learning outcomes in their current courses.

Bonus: A sixth workshop: 'Being the One Who Makes It Happen' will be included if Art Explosion: Empowerment for Life workshop series is purchased during the conference. This is a powerful workshop that allows students to see through to where they wants to be (having reached their goal) and to see what version of themselves they will need to 'be being' in order to logically be the person that makes it happen. Gives them insight into what limiting beliefs/ habits they will need to 'lose' and what they will need to develop to become the version of themselves- the person that can make their vision reality.
